COMMON QUESTIONS

  • No experience necessary, just a heart to serve!

  • Street Church works hard to create a safe environment where you can serve those affected by homelessness, addiction, and poverty.

    Volunteers serve together and these groups meet in visible, public places.

    In order to ensure it is a safe environment for both our volunteers and guests, we do have a brief safety training that we ask all volunteers to complete before serving.

  • For safety resources, kids under the age of 14 are not able to participate as volunteers at Street Church. However, we do have ways for kids to serve, like helping with preparing meals or packing care kits.

    Anyone ages 14-18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian or their Youth Pastor (please contact us BEFORE planning to bring your youth group so we can plan for both a impactful experience, but also a wise and safe one).

  • That would be awesome! Come out to serve for your first time and, if it is a good fit, we’d love to have you volunteer with us weekly.

    In fact, we find volunteering weekly makes a more meaningful experience for you as the volunteer and a more impactful experience for the friends on the street that you will meet.

    Many of our volunteers serve weekly!

  • After you have come out once, we will connect you with the team leader for that location.

    They will be able to share serving opportunities for their specific location. Often, volunteers who can only come out sporadically are totally welcome.
