The Need in Our City

In Santa Clarita, individuals and families are living in cars, sleeping in the riverbed, staying in motels week-to-week, or navigating life without stable housing. Many are battling addiction. Some are working but cannot afford rising costs. Some are simply one crisis away from losing everything.

Homelessness is not just a downtown Los Angeles issue. It is present in our neighborhoods, near our businesses, and throughout our city.

Behind every situation is a person created in the image of God — worthy of dignity, care, and hope.

And while the causes are complex, the immediate needs are not:

  • Food

  • Hygiene

  • Human connection

  • Practical support

  • A pathway forward

Without consistent care and community presence, people living on the streets often remain unseen and disconnected from the relationships and resources that could help them rebuild.

This is not just a social issue.
It is a human issue.

And it requires local solutions driven by compassion, consistency, and community partnership.

Through Street Church, we have seen real change happen when ordinary people, local businesses, and non-profit leaders step forward together to bring practical hope to the streets of Santa Clarita.

  • Our teams engage at least 75 people on the Streets every week.

  • We put on 156 mobile resource spot events throughout our city each year (at least three every week).

How Street Church Is Responding

Street Church shows up.

Each week, we host Resource Spots across Santa Clarita where people receive free meals, hot showers, essential supplies, and community centered around Jesus.

We also go directly to those living in encampments and along the riverbed — bringing care, prayer, and support to people where they are.

We don’t just distribute resources.
We build relationships.

We listen to stories. We pray with people. We connect individuals to recovery programs, housing resources, and local support services. We create community for those who often feel forgotten.

As a faith-based initiative, we believe practical compassion and spiritual hope belong together. This means that we don’t stop at just meeting physical needs, we also offer prayer, share our testimonies of what God has done and discuss stories from the Bible together.
